About Patricia Field
Patricia Field is a native
New Yorker and one of fashion's greatest visionaries: she is an Academy Award
nominated, Emmy Award winning film and television Costume Designer and a
boutique owner with her own clothing label. Patricia received critical praise
and raised the standards for the world of television glamour when she costumed
HBO’s Sex and the City, the most fashionable show in television history.
She is a true pioneer who has brought forth a new style of dressing to American
women and has stimulated an entire fashion movement throughout the world.
Patricia began her career
with the opening of her
Greenwich Village
boutique in 1966. For over 40 years this downtown institution has been an
internationally known favorite of celebrities, in-the-know “scenesters” and the
fashion-forward. It has been a defining factor in the urban style of
New York’s glittery
nightlife, and helped to launch the careers of many innovative young designers
and stylists. Patricia opened two subsequent stores, another Patricia Field
Boutique on
6th Avenue
and the highly successful Hotel Venus in
Soho.
The Patricia Field boutique now happily resides back in its
East
Village
neighborhood on the Bowery, an up-and-coming area of
Manhattan.
TELEVISION AND FILM
Patricia’s impressive list of projects
include television’s Crime Story, Wiseguy, Spin City, Hope and Faith,
Six Degrees, Cashmere Mafia, Kath & Kim, Sex and the City and
currently Ugly Betty. Her film credits include Miami Rhapsody, The
Substitute, Dear Diary, The Devil Wears Prada, Confessions
of a Shopaholic and the upcoming Sex and the City movie sequel.

Japan.

for Rocawear, developed a limited edition collection for Pro-Keds, and
collaborated with Japanese brand Ash & Diamonds to design a line of watches
for Seiko
Japan.
She designed two collections for Payless Shoes, a line of accessories and
clothing inspired by Barbie for Mattel, and in 2008 designed a wildly
successful line called Destination Style for the Home Shopping Network in the
US, Marks & Spencer in Europe, and Myer
Department Store in
Australia.
Patricia acted as Creative
Director for the Japanese brand Smacky Glam from 2004 to 2006, styling their
campaigns with famed photographer Ellen Von Unworth. She developed a Patricia
Field web boutique for Coffers Japan, designed costumes in
Athens
for the Greek Music Awards, and directed costuming for the musical

Vienna.
In 2008 Patricia styled a large-scale fashion and music event for American

Also in 2008 Patricia was
commissioned by Coca-Cola to design a limited series of Diet Coke bottles,
which were sold at Selfridges in
Great Britain. She teamed up with Diet Coke once again in 2009
to design a bottle inspired by theeclectic outfits she created for America
Ferrera on Ugly Betty, and to launch a new eco-bag made
entirely out of recycled plastic bottles. Also in 2009 she designed an
accessories collection for Crystal Ball in
Japan.
For the 2009 holiday season Patricia worked with Sex and the City actress Kim Cattrall to promote Bailey’s Irish
Cream Red Bow bottle. The holiday bottle inspired the designer to create a
